FAQ

A private stargazing experience is an intimate, guided evening beneath the stars with just your group and your guide. Rather than joining a large, public tour, you’ll have a personalized experience where we can move at your pace, answer your questions and spend more time exploring the night sky. This is what makes our stargazing tours unique… Every tour is 100% private - just your group, no weirdos other than your own.

What we see depends on several factors including the season and moon phase, but there is always something interesting to explore. Depending on the evening, we may look at planets, the Moon, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, double stars, constellations and even occasional meteors. Some of our favorite objects include Jupiter, the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades, the Beehive Cluster, the Andromeda Galaxy and the Lagoon Nebula.

Yes! We have an 8” Dobsonian telescope that allows us to get a much closer look at many celestial objects than you can see with the naked eye. We also incorporate a digital telescope, which takes vivid images of deep space objects throughout the evening. We send these images to you for you to cherish forever!

Yes! Zion is an Internationally Certified Dark Sky Park… One of the best places in the world for stargazing! Once the sun goes down and your eyes adjust, the night sky becomes incredibly detailed. On a clear, dark night, you can see thousands of stars, the Milky Way stretching across the sky and celestial objects that are almost impossible to see from a city.

Our stargazing location is located in Virgin, Utah. We are also happy to travel to your vacation rental or event space, if it has the appropriate space for a stargazing experience. Once an experience is booked, we send further details about the location.

You can book your private stargazing experinece here. We recommend scheduling early, especially during busy seasons in Zion, to ensure your preferred evening.

Yes! Stargazing is perfect for retreats, weddings, corporate gatherings, team-building or family celebrations. Group sessions are fully customized to your needs.

Definitely. Whether it’s a birthday, bachelorette, anniversary, or simply a memorable family experience, we love creating meaningful experiences that make the moment extra special.

Yes, children are more than welcome! We love sharing the night sky with the whole family and often hear that it is the highlight of the trip!

Yes! Your experience includes a beautiful online gallery of professional astrophotography portraits of your group as well as the images we take of deep space objects throughout the evening.

We provide pretty much everything you need for the evening, including delicious hot cocoa! But we do recommend bringing a layer (or two depending on the time of year) and a water bottle!

A full moon doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t have an amazing stargazing experience. The moon itself becomes one of the most spectacular things to observe through a telescope, and moonlight can beautifully illuminate Zion’s cliffs and landscape. However, bright moonlight makes faint objects and the Milky Way more difficult to see. If your priority is seeing the faintest stars and the Milky Way, we recommend planning your trip closer to the new moon.

Cosmic Flow began as yoga + meditation offerings and has slowly evolved to include so much more! After doing countless sessions beneath the stars, we realized how amazing it would be to be able to look at the cosmos more closely with our guests after their yoga session, and the wonder of the cosmos and our passion for astrophotography led us to invest in a Celestron 8” Dobsonian telescope. Our Yoga + Stargazing offering has become an instant guest favorite.

We also offer Adventure Photoshoots and Charcuterie Picnics, either as add-ons to your Stargazing experinece, or as stand-alone experiences. Discover more about all of our offferings here.

We understand that travel plans can change! Cancellations for Stargazing experiences made at least 72 hours before your experience are eligible for a 100% refund. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the experience are non-refundable, but we’re always happy to try to reschedule your experience when possible.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Although weather related-cancellations are rare, Zion’s weather can be unpredictable, and your safety always comes first. We monitor conditions closely and always try to reschedule rather than cancel whenever possible. For experiences such as yoga, we also have a beautiful indoor location with floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning views of Zion, allowing us to host your experience comfortably in most weather conditions. It’s actually a pretty incredible way to experience Zion in inclement weather.

If we cancel your experience because of unsafe weather or conditions that significantly prevent us from providing the experience and a reschedule is not possible, you will receive a 100% refund.

A rainy or cloudy forecast does not automatically mean an experience will be canceled. We make decisions based on actual conditions, safety, and the overall quality of the experience. If you choose to cancel because you are concerned about a weather forecast, our standard 72-hour cancellation policy applies.

For stargazing experiences, weather is especially important. If cloud cover or other conditions make meaningful stargazing impossible, we’ll work with you to reschedule or provide a refund.

Cancellation and Refunds

A 75% refund of the total event fee is available for cancellations made 7 or more days before the scheduled event. The remaining 25% is non-refundable and covers coordination, consultation, planning, and preparation performed by Cosmic Adventure Co.

Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event are non-refundable, and no refund will be issued.
